A close fitting cap that captures the spirit of Shetland and Fair Isle. The star motif (also called a rose) was adopted from the Norwegians about the time of World War II when Shetland was used as a training ground for the Norwegian resistance. Once adopted, the Shetlanders gave the motif its own twist, making it uniquely, colorfully their own.
