Create a beautifully textured blanket with this monochromatic mosaic overlay crochet pattern! This elegantly raised Diamond Shadows design will make the perfect addition to any décor. The 9” repeat allows you to create a blanket of any length!

My 6’ tall husband requested a blanket that covered him from chin to over-the-toes. Eight repeats made the perfect length for him! I used 12 skeins of Caron Simply Soft worsted weight acrylic yarn in Dark Country Blue to achieve a length of 72”. (see photo)

Size: 36” x 9” repeat
(171 stitches x 38 rows repeated section)
5 repeats: 36”x 45”
6 repeats: 36”x 54”
7 repeats: 36”x 63”
8 repeats: 36”x 72”
Size will vary depending on yarn weight, hook and your choice of repeated sections.
This calculation was based on weight 4 yarn and hook size of 4mm. Gauge: 5 stitches and 5 rows=1 inch

Yarn: Monochromatic=1 color
1 repeat: 337 yds / Border -322 yds
5 repeats: 1694 yds / Border – 565 yds
6 repeats: 2026 yds / Border – 624 yds
7 repeats: 2360 yds / Border - 683 yds
8 repeats: 2697 yds / Border – 742 yds

This pattern is worked from the bottom up. I would suggest using the Knit Companion app (my personal preference as it is brilliant and saves on printer ink and paper), but I have also included layout instructions for the charts if you prefer to print out your pages.
