More notes are at the beginning of the pattern. You will need a gray or black yarn for the border rows, but all other colors should be a rainbow from purple for coolest to red for hottest. Before beginning, do research on your chosen location, and decide which temperature you’ll be using: highs, lows, specific time of day, etc.
Don’t purchase too much of one color at first. Bigger blankets than the standard pattern will require more yarn, especially in the colors that are used most.
Caron Simply Soft is the recommended yarn for the pattern, but any yarn that has a lot of color choices is fine, use the recommended hook size for your particular yarn, or go up/down depending on your tension and the size of blanket you want. If you use a heavy yarn like the one-pound yarns, do fewer repeats of the diamond pattern because your blanket will be bigger by default!
Any additions or changes to the pattern/notes after publication will be noted.
