Stylecraft Special Aran in Khaki. 295-320 yds.

The DK version was knitted with 4mm needles, I suggest 4.5mm for Worsted yarn. For the Aran weight cowl I wanted more drape and the samples were knitted with 5mm for the ribbing and 5.5mm needles for the body of the cowls.

They are worked bottom up, in the round and I used 16” circular needles.

Testers using Malabrigo Rios used more than one skein for the taller cowl in the smallest circumference, but it can be done if you work a few less ribbing rows at the start and end of the cowl.

With huge thanks, as always, to our amazing testers bluesocks, KnotPerfect, BarefootHippie and zayantemom,

Cast on numbers for either DK or Aran will result (depending on your gauge/tension) a cowl of the approximate sizes shown in the materials and measurements. The numbers apply to both yarns. It’s not one cast on per yarn weight.
