This is the fingering-weight version of Divergence, (and companion to Divergence Mitts) which was originally published in December of 2020. In fact, it was actually the original design, but somehow the DK-weight hat took publishing precedence. Although the DK-weight version does not have beads, I just couldn’t resist adding them to this version - tiny little seed beads for one and larger faceted glass beads for the other. It’s fun to have a little bling once in a while.

Let’s talk about gauge a bit. When it comes down to it, the knitter needs to decide which fabric s/he likes the most. With the larger needles and Enchanted Forest Fiber Cozy, I achieved a very nice, soft and loose feel (perfect when you have lot of hair), but with smaller needles, what was already nice stitch definition was even more pronounced. If you like loose and want a medium sized hat, I’d recommend following the instructions for the smallest size with the larger needles. That will give you a medium, more or less.

You will need 200 (230/240meters) of fingering-weight yarn.
