Put your style in pole position and take the flag with these chequered socks. The perfect accessory for any motorsports fan, whether you’re in the stands or on your sofa. These will keep your hands busy while you wait for the lights to go out.

A modification of the original DK Last Lap Socks to make the motif more clear and add an optional third colour.

These are worked cuff down following written instructions with accompanying charts. This pattern uses a heel flap and gusset and a modified wedge toe.

Sizes: 1=40sts, 2=48sts, 3=56sts
This equates to a foot/ankle measurement of 7.3(8.7)10.1 inches. I recommend picking a size that is roughly 0-15% smaller than your own measurements.

Yarn:
These socks require 3 colours of DK yarn. You’re invited to play around with the yarn choice to create your own unique socks.

Approx 60g total (20g of each colour)
Note: Adjustments to length of leg or foot will vary the quantity of contrast colours needed.

Needle: 3mm& 3.25mm (or needles that obtain gauge)

Gauge: 22sts in 4 inches on 3.25mm in Chart A after blocking

Difficulty Level: Confident beginners and above
