Simple and elegant, this cowl will take you right through winter and on into spring.

The pattern is for a dogtooth/houndstooth cowl in 3 yarn weights, 7 sizes for each. In each case, the largest size takes one skein in each of two colours. If you are a follower of fashion, black and white or black and pale pink are right on trend. Or choose your own contrasting favourites!

The details of the three yarn weight are as follows:
Fingering/4ply weight yarns:
Cascade 220 Fingering 4Ply Sock or other yarn (about 248m/273yds per 50gm Skein):
1 x 50g skein black, 1 x 50g skein white for all sizes
3 mm (US 2) circular needle or dpns

Sport/DK weight yarns:
Cascade 220 Superwash Sport Merino wool or other DK yarn(about 125m / 136 yds per 50 g skein) :
1 x 50g skein black, 1 x 50g skein white for all sizes
4 mm (US 6) circular needles or dpns

Aran weight yarns:
Cascade 128 Superwash 100% Superwash Merino Aran or other yarn (about 116m per 100gm Ball):
1 x 100g ball black, 1 x 100g ball white for all sizes

Tension
Fingering: 30 sts and 38 rows to 4” over pattern on 3 mm needles
Sport/DK: 24 sts and 30 rows to 4” over pattern on 4 mm needles
Aran: 16 sts and 20 rows to 4” over pattern on 6 mm needles
