Custom doll shoes with optional toe cap, tongue and laces. Made to fit my basic amigurumi doll pattern, or my realistic body amigurumi doll pattern, but easy to customize to any size doll.
For the back laces version, I worked the entire shoe in rows. For the front laces version, I worked the beginning in the round then switched to rows for the top. This is to make it easier to get the shoe on the doll.
I used worsted weight yarn to make my project, but if you want to make a lighter shoe or a slipper, you could use a thinner yarn. You might need to use a smaller hook, and add more rows, to make up for the size difference.
For the back laces boots pictured, I used “Spring Brook” from Caron Simply Soft. For the front laces shoes pictured, I used “White” from Caron Simply Soft, and “Cherry Red” from Red Heart Soft. And if you like you can use crochet thread to make the laces for the shoes. I used Aunt Lydia’s Classic crochet thread in white. I used scrap yarn for my project, since the dolls I was making the shoes for were so small. If you’re making your shoes for a much larger doll, you may need more yarn.
