Franklin Habit Dolores #14 Pigalle Scandale Kit by Enrico Castronovo (Les Tricoteurs Volants) includes the PDF pattern download and all the Haydenville DK yarn needed to knit this stunning ensemble for Dolores. The kit also includes ribbons and feathers to complete Dolores’ look and a signature fan. Note: Dolores doll is not included with outfit kit.

Direct from Paris comes this sumptuous design inspired by the night Dolores joined the cancan and set the Place Pigalle on fire. Literally. During a limited engagement at Montmartre’s famed Moulin du Mouton, her scandalously revealing high kicks during the notorious Danse de la chandelle (candle dance) whipped the audience into such a frenzy that they poured out of the theater and into the street, carrying her aloft with shouts of “Encore! Encore!” (or “Pas encore!”—accounts vary). In the commotion, the lit candle flew from Dolores’s bosom and set her richly plumed hat ablaze. The conflagration spread to a nearby public convenience, which was utterly incinerated. A commemorative plaque marks the spot of the tragédie.
