Where to start… Chicken socks have been rattling around my brain for a while now, so I thought I better get them out! From early childhood we have always kept chickens, and greatly appreciated any eggs they laid…. Although not that many! (I’ve always been the type to rescue the less ‘wanted’ animals- older, lower egg producing hens included!). It is only a little over a year ago that, after almost 16 years, we said goodbye to our last hens. I thought a cosy pair of Chicken socks would be a lovely tribute to the ladies, and a reminder of the content clucking, dust bathing and chuckles they brought to our family!

If you make these socks, I’d love to see them! Tag me on Instagram @underthewillowknits #dontforgetthechickenssocks
