Don't Look Back Shawl
The Don’t Look Back Shawl was designed with the Myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in mind. The combination of a Merino/Yak/Silk fingering weight yarn as the main color with a Suri/Silk as the contrast lends incredible drape to the finished product. It is so lightweight and gentle that you almost forget it’s there.
Any combination of a Fingering Weight yarn + a Lace weight will work beautifully to ensure a lovely product you’ll never let go of. And with it being simple brioche and increases and decreases thrown in at regular intervals, It can also be a quick and mindless knit.
This shawl is also a two skein wonder! You just need one skein of fingering weight, and one skein of lace weight to get going. Along with a couple stitch markers and US 6 needles, I used a 24in circular cable for mine.
With this being a lovely drape-y shawl, I don’t especially find a gauge swatch necessary. If you knit tighter, you may wish for a needle one size larger, if you’re a looser knitter, you may wish for one size smaller. Ultimately both of these yarns also love to drape, and just about any gauge will get the drape for you.
Included is also my retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, which I hope you enjoy!
