Double Date Cardigan
3 years ago, I designed a pullover inspired by the sweater Rory wears on her date in the “Double Date” episode of Gilmore Girls. As a young adult currently dating in the modern world, there are a few things I feel have changed.
-
Baggy is in. Loose arms, boxy body - keep’em guessing a little bit.
-
It’s not about how your outfit makes them feel, it’s about how it makes YOU feel. Own it. Love it.
-
It is WAY more fun dating as an adult than it was dating as a teenager. Don’t go on a double date to avoid the awkwardness, go on it because you’ll enjoy it!
As before, this stitch pattern is strategic to look like colourwork without actually having to work with two colours at once. Although the construction is a little abnormal and generally more challenging than the original sweater version, it’s an exciting endeavour for those hoping to expand their knitting skills and end up with a high quality finished knit.
There are 9 sizes included in the pattern.
XS (S, M, L, XL) {2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL}
Bust circumference: 35 (39, 43, 47, 50) {54, 58, 62, 66}“ / 89 (99, 109, 119.5, 127) {137, 147.5, 157.5, 167.5} cm
4” - 7” / 10 cm - 18 cm positive ease in the bust circumference intended
Note that sizes 3XL - 5XL were not test knitted.
