Double Date Sweater
Gilmore Girls is easily one of the most iconic coming of age tv shows in existence. Although nothing super dramatic ever really happens in and around Stars Hollow, I was fully invested and could relate to each character’s life; be it living under the strict Asian household regime, navigating the posh lifestyle of having a rich grandmother, or simply remembering the experience of going on an awkward double date.
This sweater is loosely inspired by the sweater Rory wears on her date in the “Double Date” episode of Gilmore Girls. It features the coloured and textured striping, but with a boxy, modern fit. What looks like stranded colourwork is actually just strategic stitch patterning, making this pattern a good fit for those curious about introducing colour to their knitting without worrying about working with two colours at once.
