I was asked by my mother in law to create a knitted neckwarmer for my father in law so he would stop stealing her headbands. It had to be soft, black (his preference), but she wanted him to have some color. So I came up with this as a compromise, black on one side, and greenish blue on the other.

This is an easy piece to knit up, and a great chance to use up those half balls of yarn you have in stash. Go wild with two bright colors, keep in neutral, or somewhere in between. I would recommend going up a needle size for the icord cast on/bind off if you are a tight knitter.

due to the tight nature of the icord cast on/ bind off, you may want to cast on anywhere from 74-78 sts for the headband. 74 would be good for a 20” head, 78 for a 22” head.
