Dragon Leg Warmers
This pattern is written as a once size fits most. An experienced crocheter will know if they need to change hook sizes, add more rows, etc.
All pictures are my property, and cannot be used without my permission.
In my original project, I used approximately 1.5 skeins of “sweet roll” in “black pepper”, a self-striping yarn. These would look great even in a solid color as well. You could also experiment with different lengths. The combinations are endless. Happy Hooking!
My calf at the widest point measures 16” in circumference
Gauge: 20 SC = 4”
I used size 4 yarn, sweet roll to be exact. However, any size 4 acrylic yarn should do.
First we will start with the ribbed “body” of the leg. I chose to do this lengthwise so that it could fit a variety of different sized calves. I would recommend though that once you’ve completed the last row of sc, that you wrap it around your calf and see how it feels. I have decent sized calves, so this is based off of my size. If you feel it is too snug, add another few rows or change to a larger hook.
Please keep in mind that the legwarmers are worked as one piece. I broke yarn on the 2nd legwarmer ONLY because I wanted my scales to match the other legwarmer.
Special stitch used:
Crocodile Stitch: 5DC around next post going downward, CH1, turn work sideways and work 5DC going upwards around the very next post.
