These fingerless gloves or wrist gauntlets have crocodile stitch (dragon scales) all the way around (backs of fingers and to palm) until the thumb hole, then the pattern switches to shell stitch with a decrease at wrist and flare on the longer version for the forearm.

I’ll be making an updated version soon with a flat palm (scales only on the backs of the hands) and may change the shell stitch to something else (either a stockinette-like crochet or a lacier shell than the granny stitch trio here). The updated version will be for sale in my Etsy store.
