Some people dream of diamonds made of carbon. Me? I dream of diamonds made of silk and merino! I started with a completely different design, but thought this up while I was half asleep and knew I had to frog what I’d done, no matter how impractical, to follow the inspiration. And I have no regrets, because I’m completely in love with the end result. The Dream of Diamonds Wrap is a reminder to follow your dreams, whatever you may be dreaming of, and to pursue the things that inspire you and make you happiest.

The Dream of Diamonds Wrap is designed to be exceedingly wearable. The textured diamond is precisely in the center of the wrap. It’s reversible, and the wrap can be worn in a million different ways to display different parts of the center. The wrap is worked flat, from the bottom up. It’s customizable and includes instructions for making the wrap wider and/or taller. The pattern uses post stitches, which makes it an intermediate level pattern.

The pattern calls for a Varigradient set from Seven Sisters Arts and you can easily flip the FO so that the darkest or lightest color is at the top. You can also make it all in one color or build your own kit using any three connected colors I recommend a yarn without too much color variation so that the texture doesn’t get lost. The Dream of Diamonds wrap works well on any fingering weight yarn with moderate stitch definition, and can easily be made with a larger weight as well (just keep an eye out on the size, and follow the instructions for customizing it as needed).

Yarn provided by Seven Sisters Arts. Shawl pin provided by Crafty Flutterby Creations!
