This is just one of those quick and dirty projects that you can get finish in a couple episodes of whatever you are binge watching at the moment. Pick 2 colors of chunky yarn, add some needles, throw in a stitch marker and you are set. You will need about 55 yards per color for the short cowl and 110 yards per color for the long cowl.

The ribbed edges are worked in contrasting color to ensure that you are getting the most bang for your yardage. Flip the cowl upside down and you can highlight the other color used. The 2 tone garter adds an interesting texture that is super simple to knit.

This pattern is easy to change to a different gauge and is perfect for that stash yarn where you think “what the heck am I going to make with these 2 skeins?” Voila! Problem solved.
