This cozy neck warmer/scarf/kerchief gets its name as it was created during Dussehra, a festival that celebrates victory of good over evil.

This is a light weight scarf for that little extra warmth for the neck. The scarf uses the jack-o-lantern stitch and is worked from side to side, increasing till the center and decreasing towards the end. Small leaves are used to embellish the border to complete the shawl.

The pattern uses the Jack-o-Lantern stitch, worked sideways and a finished with a slightly ruffled leafy border. This is a very simple stitch which provides a nice texture and drapes well.

Gauge is not extremely important. Worked with a light fingering wt yarn, the resulting scarf is warm and at the same time not very heavy when draped.
