I was so delighted when Eagle Bend Alpaca Farm reached out and invited me to collaborate with them on a special design that highlights the beauty of their award-winning alpaca yarn, and pays homage to the location of their farm.

The entrance to their beautiful farm is flanked by posts adorned by eagles, located at the bend in the road. The farm has a long history, dating back to 1830, that includes a chance encounter with Daniel Boone himself.

While designing the Eagle Bend pattern, I wanted it to be unique and fun to knit. I also wanted to include multiple options for customizing the project to make it your own — changing the length to fit your recipient, adjusting the width to create a wrap or shawl, or picking one of the lace stitch patterns to use for the entire project.

The Eagle Feather lace pattern features a simple repeat that becomes intuitive after a couple of repeats, and the Eagle Eyelet lace pattern is quick to knit and provides a soothing rest from the more detailed lacework.
