As summer slowly gives way to cooler days, there comes a moment when a little more warmth feels just right.

Ease In Tee is designed for that in-between season, when mornings turn crisp and evenings grow cool, and getting dressed means reaching for one more layer.

Here are the features I tried to create in Ease In Tee:

Comfort first
The yoke shaping is enhanced with short rows, creating a comfortable fit.

Compound raglan shaping
Compound raglan shaping further enhances a good fit and results in elegantly shaped raglan lines.

Deep raglan
Deep armholes leave plenty of room for easy layering, while the relaxed silhouette gives the look a casual ease.

Braid-like details
Braid-like details trace the deep raglan shaping, adding a distinctive detail for the clean design. The fun stitch promises to make this an addictive knit.

In-between-season knit
Light enough for warmer days, yet just right when you need a little extra warmth.

Versatile layering that keeps a good proportion
The simple shape and moderate ease make Ease In Tee a versatile layering piece, easily worn over a snug top, a shirt, or a dress while maintaining flattering proportions.

The sample is knit in Size 2 and worn with 12.5 cm / 5” positive ease at bust. Suggested ease at bust: 10 to 15 cm / 4 to 6” positive ease.

About the yarn and substitution:

Gepard Puf is an airy, blown yarn with a light and lofty character. Although it is classified as Super Bulky, its 90 m / 98 yds per 50 g meterage and airy construction give it a character similar to some yarns classified as Bulky. To achieve a similar fabric and finish to the sample, choose a yarn with a similar airy, lofty construction and comparable meterage when substituting.

A second sample, the red version shown on this page, was knitted with Malabrigo Worsted in Sealing Wax. It was knitted to the same gauge, resulting in a fabric without the halo, but still cosy and soft against the skin.

NEEDLES

One 5.5 mm / US 9 circular needle, 40 cm / 16” for neck and 60 cm / 24” or longer for body
One 4.5 mm / US 7 circular needle, 40 cm / 16” for neck and sleeves and 60 cm / 24” or longer for body

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTIONS

Stitch markers, stitch holder or waste yarn, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

GAUGE (after blocking)

16 sts and 25 rows = 10 cm / 4” in St st with 5.5 mm / US 9 needle.
