This Easy Aran Hat is a fun and quick project to knit.
It looks complicated, but the instructions are quite easy to follow.
Pattern includes 3 sizes - Small, Medium and Large, with finished circumferences of 14”, 16”, and 18” - which will fit child, teen and adult. Finished hat has quite a bit of stretch, so each hat should fit a range of sizes.
Hat can be knit with any worsted weight yarn.
Recommended gauge is 4.5 stitches and 6 rows = 1”, in stockinette stitch, using larger needles.
I used Berroco Vintage Worsted Weight yarn for my samples.
Recommended needles:
size 6, 16” circular ( for ribbing ),
size 8, 16” circular ( for body of hat ),
size 8 double pointed needles ( for top of hat ).
Other tools required include stitch markers, cable needle, and tapestry needle.
