Gauge:
Hat should measure 6 3/4” across after round 5, or 8 1/4” across after round 6.

Measurements (double strand):
Adult’s hat: 10” tall by 10 3/4” wide at widest point
Child’s hat: 9 1/2” tall by 9 3/4” wide at widest point
Toddler’s hat: 7 3/4” tall by 8 3/4” wide at widest point

Additional Notes:
-You will need to hold two strands of the recommended yarn together to obtain the proper gauge.
-Ch 1 at beginning of round does not count as a st.
-After increases end, always start new rounds in same stitch as join.
-When working the band, the plain sc sts in the final 3 rounds can be worked as center single crochet (the “crochet knit stitch”) to give a knit look to the design.
-See additional pattern notes further down the page for single strand gauge and finished measurements.
