This easy hot pad pattern is really simple to make and the pattern is free to access on my blog here.

These hotpads are so useful in the kitchen, I use mine daily. They protect your hands while removing sheet pans from the oven and can be used to place hot pans on to protect your counters.

These need to be made with 100% cotton for maximum heat protection and also because the cotton won’t melt or burn at oven temperatures.

You can make one of these hot pads in just a couple of hours plus they’re kind of mindless to make so perfect for keeping your hands busy while watching your favourite TV show.

To make these hot pads you will need:
137 meters of 100% cotton yarn in aran weight
4mm hook
Needle for weaving in ends

The finished pattern will measure 16 x 16cm but the instructions for making a larger or smaller hotpad are included in the pattern.

This pattern suits any skill level, even beginners. The pattern includes a video that you can crochet along with and there is also a written pattern with pictures to illustrate every step.
