This cowl is so easy it can be made over a couple of days or a day!

I designed this cowl for the Knitting 101 series, and realized that other knitters would love another easy and mindless pattern in between all of their more involved projects too. It’s a great beginner project for those who are self taught or are wanting to learn (cough, cough… I teach classes and this is Lesson #1 in the Knitting 101 Series).

Anyways! All you need is:

Materials Needed:

US Size 8/5mm 24” circular knitting needles

Stitch Markers

Large eye darning needle

Scissors/snips

Yarn Requirements and Suggestions:

218 yd of any worsted weight yarn

–Gray & Pink Sample uses 1 hank/ball each of Universal Yarn Deluxe Worsted Superwash in the color Donahue, and RICO Designs Essentials Super Mohair and Kid Silk Lace weight in Neon Red – just for some extra flare…pinks or red tones of this particular lace weight should be paired with like or dark colors because they can bleed during the blocking process.)

-Multicolor Purple toned cowl: 1 hank of Lucid Yarn Tolai Worsted by Fox & Hare Creations ( This one turned out a little smaller due to it not have another lace weight held with it)
