This hat will take you through the cold weather months in style, whether you’re knitting it for yourself or for a gift. The pattern is written with beginners in mind, with clear directions and a pattern that consists entirely of knit and purl stitches. Perfect for someone new to knitting, or a quick knit for someone more experienced.

The instructions include directions for knitting flat or in the round - whatever you prefer.

Takes just 100-125 yards of worsted weight yarn (gauge 20 sts/ 4”). Looks great with solids, tonals, and handpainted/ variegated yarn.

With three sizes that fit kids through large adults and non-gender-specific styling, this is a hat that you can knit again and again.

Specifics on sizing:
Snug fit: finished circumference approx. 16.5”/ 42 cm will fit kids, plus adults who like their hats to really hug their head
Regular: finished circumference approx. 19”/ 48 cm will fit most teens and adults (head circumference up to 21.5”/ 55 cm)
Large: finished circumference approx. 21.5” /55 cm will fit those with a head circumference over 21.5” / 55 cm

This hat was inspired by the popularity of the Easy Trails Ponytail/ Messy Bun Hat (turns out not everyone has a ponytail!). To see the ponytail version: easy trails ponytail hat
