Ebbe Cowl

Ebbe Cowl is a simple cowl knit in lace texture. The cowl is worked as a tube. You start by knitting a garter edge. Next, the lace texture is knit according to chart until desired length of cowl. The cowl is finished with garter edge. Ebbe Cowl is light and warm, and the lace texture requires little yarn for the finished garment. All sizes of the cowl will fit an adult, and the smallest sizecan also be used for a child. I have made a cowl in the smallest size which I share with my 4-year-old daughter. Choose the size based on how snug you want the cowl to fit. Pattern also provides instructions for finishing the cowl with a drawstring and cords, if you would like a cowl with snug fit at the top.

No difficult techniques are used in the pattern. Ebbe Cowl is therefore suitable for a fairly new knitter who wants to try out lace knitting. The lace is worked using a combination of decreases and yarn overs. Techniques used are: knit 2 stitches together, slip slip knit, yarn overs, knit stitches and purl stitches.

The blue cowl in the pictures in the pattern is knitted in Drops Air in the color 18 Morgentåke.
