Inspired by the intricate interlace and flowing ornament of Insular illuminated manuscripts, like the Echternach Gospels, these cuff-down socks feature a richly textured motif that continues from the leg across the instep and into the toe.
The socks are knitted from the cuff down, beginning with a tubular cast-on and a short garter-rib cuff. They are worked with a heel flap and gusset, followed by a patterned instep and a plain stockinette sole.
The pattern includes two toe options: a standard-shaped toe and a more decorative pointed toe, allowing you to choose the finish that best suits your style. This is my first published knitting pattern, and I hope you enjoy making it as much as I enjoyed designing it!

1 skein of fingering-weight yarn.
The sample uses Malabrigo Sock in Ivy.

Stitch markers and a tapestry needle.
