After knitting the Eclipse scarf I had a nice little stash of leftovers and decided they should be knit up into a simple cowl rather than languish in a cubby somewhere.

Eclipse Cowl is basically a recipe for using up some super bulky whether you already have some in your stash or plan to knit the scarf and know you will want to use your yarns up too like I did.

Finished Measurements:
After gentle blocking: 57 cm/22.5” neck opening, 66 cm/26” bottom opening, 38 cm/15” height.
Gauge:
Before blocking: 8 stitches x 12 rounds in stocking stitch on 12 mm/US 17 needles.

Yarns Used, Needles and Supplies:
Malabrigo Rasta, super bulky (5-6 wpi) 100% Merino Wool. 150 grams, 82 m/90 yds.

Colour (A) 25 grams # 195 Black.
Colour (B) 57 grams # 429 Cape Cod Grey.
Colour (C) 55 grams # 705 Fog.
Colour (D) 54 grams # 704 Ivory.
Colour (E) 48 grams # 063 Natural.

12 mm/US 17 circular needles 60 cm/24” in length. Or size needed to obtain gauge.
One stitch marker.
Tapestry needle.

The amounts of yarn used are based on my sample for the design but will depend on the yarn you choose, variations in yarn thickness of each colour, your personal gauge/tension and any changes made.
