DESCRIPTION
EDITH et CLOTILDE sont deux versions d’un même design : un t-shirt à la coupe carrée (boxy). Dotés d’une encolure dégagée et conçus pour être portés avec beaucoup d’aisance, ils sont tricotés sans couture, de haut en bas.
On commence par tricoter à plat le haut du dos. Des mailles sont ensuite relevées pour travailler séparément les deux parties du devant, ce qui permet de façonner l’encolure. Une fois les deux devants réunis, on poursuit le tricot en une seule pièce jusqu’à la hauteur d’emmanchure désirée. Le corps est ensuite tricoté en rond. Après un tour de diminutions, un bord en côtes 1/1 vient finir proprement le bas du t-shirt. Les finitions se font en relevant des mailles autour de l’encolure et des emmanchures pour y tricoter des bordures en côtes 1/1.
Choisissez votre version (ou tricotez les deux!) :
EDITH : motif vertical en côtes fantaisies, léger et frais,
CLOTILDE : motif horizontal, avec des rayures ajourées, dans un esprit marinière revisitée.

TAILLES PROPOSEES
Edith et Clotilde sont proposées en 9 tailles pour un tour de poitrine de 74, 84 (94, 104, 114)(124, 134, 144) 155 cm. Le tour de poitrine du t-shirt fini est de 96-109(122-135-148)(162-175-188)202 cm (voir mesures finales à la page suivante).
Je propose de le porter avec une aisance positive de 22 à 47 cm mais vous pouvez choisir votre taille en fonction des mesures finales du t-shirt.

MATERIEL
Le t-shirt est adapté aux fils d’épaisseur fingering, idéalement en fibres végétales. J’ai utilisé de la Fresh (100% lin) de chez Lana Gatto:
Edith : bleu (réf. 30669)
Clotilde : couleur 1 marron chiné (réf. 9511) & couleur 2 écru (réf. 30670).

Métrage nécessaire (échantillon inclus):

Aiguilles circulaires : 3mm, 2.5mm et 2mm (80-100cm)
La taille d’aiguilles est indicative. Je tricote serré donc il se peut que vous ayez besoin d’aiguilles plus petites pour atteindre le bon échantillon.
Petit matériel : 2 anneaux marqueurs différents, 1 anneau marqueur amovible style ampoule, des scoubidous ou restes de laine pour mettre les mailles en attente, aiguille à laine, ciseaux.

ECHANTILLON
Tricoté à plat en jersey endroit avec des aiguilles 3mm et mesuré après blocage: 29 mailles x 40 rangs = 10 x 10 cm

DESCRIPTION
EDITH and CLOTILDE are two versions of the same boxy t-shirt design. Featuring a wide neckline and designed to be worn with plenty of ease, they are knitted seamlessly, from top to bottom.
You begin by knitting the upper back flat. Stitches are then picked up to work the two front sections separately, which allows for shaping the neckline. Once the two front sections are joined, you continue knitting in one piece until the desired armhole depth. The body is then knitted in the round. After a round of decreases, a 1/1 ribbed edge neatly finishes the bottom of the t-shirt. The finishing touches are made by picking up stitches around the neckline and armholes to knit 1/1 ribbed edges.
Choose your favourite version (or knit both!):
EDITH: vertical pattern in fancy ribbing, light and fresh,
CLOTILDE: horizontal pattern with openwork stripes, in a revisited sailor style.

SKILLS: accessible to beginners

SIZES OFFERED
Edith and Clotilde are offered in 9 sizes for a bust measurement of 74, 84 (94, 104, 114)(124, 134, 144) 155 cm or 29, 33 (37, 41, 45) (48.75, 52.75, 56.75) 61 inches.
The bust measurement of the finished t-shirt is 96-109(122-135-148)(162-175-188)202 cm or 37.75–43(48–53.25–58.25)(63.75–69–74)79.5’’ (see final measurements on the next page). I suggest wearing it with a positive ease of 22 to 47 cm (8.75 to 18.5’’) but you can choose your size based on the final measurements of the t-shirt.

MATERIALS
The t-shirt is suitable for fingering weight yarns, ideally in plant fibers. I used Fresh (100% linen) from Lana Gatto:
Edith: blue (ref. 30669)
Clotilde: colour 1 heathered brown (ref. 9511) & colour 2 ecru (ref. 30670).

The needle size is indicative. I knit tightly so you may need smaller needles to achieve the correct gauge.

Notions: 2 different stitch markers, 1 removable bulb-style stitch marker, waste yarn for holding stitches, tapestry needle, scissors.
