This stranded mitten pattern is the same on both sides, so the mittens are interchangeable. It features a gusseted thumb and a tapered top as well as an option for a picot cuff. It is knit in two contrasting colors.

To knit his pattern, you should know how to:

  • Knit in the round using two colors,
  • Read a colorwork chart,
  • Do basic increases and decreases, and
  • Graft live stitches using kitchener stitch.

The standard size (Small) of this mitten is worked at a gauge of 10 stitches per inch on a US 0/2.0 mm needle. For a size Medium, work at a gauge of 9 stitches per inch. For a size Large, work at a gauge of 8 stitches per inch. Use the needle size that gives you the correct gauge.

The finished cuff circumference is approximately 7.5, 8.5, and 9.75 inches for S, M, and L, respectively.
