A dear friend of mine asked me to crochet her an elegant shawl in grey colour for Christmas. We looked at different scarfs/shawls online and tried to find one with an existing pattern. However, we could not find any that matched exactly what my friend imagined, so in the end I decided to make up my own pattern inspired by all the nice shawls we had looked at. My friend picked out pictures of shawls with pineapple pattern, so I decided to include it in the motif of this shawl. As I had no pattern to work with, it took me a bit longer than planned. But after lots of frogging and re-doing I have designed and finished this shawl.
I am in love with it and will do one for myself too.

Crochet level: Intermediate

Finished size: 248cm long with a 96cm drop at the back

I used 7 balls of Stylecraft Naturals Bamboo+Cotton yarn in colour Night.

I needed all seven balls, firstly because the size of this shawl took them all up, secondly when I was attaching the motifs I was using several yarn balls at the same time to avoid fastening off and re-attaching.
