Here you can find the pattern for an elephant shrew in english and german.
The pattern is a two in one pattern with a table to make two different elephant shrews. You can work along the pattern and make either an black and rufous elephant shrew or a golden-rumped one. Or you can go with your own creativity and make your own elephant shrew.

You need to know basic knowledge in chrocheting:

single crochet
chain
slip stitch
half double crochet
increase
decrease

With a hook 2.5 your Elephant Shrew will be around 16 cm long, 4 cm wide and 5 cm tall.

Yarn – just use the colors and size you prefer
I used a crochet hook in 2.5 mm and the following Schachenmayr Catania:
For the black and rufous elephant shrew:

110 black
388 terracotta / red
426 fox / light red
179 camel / light brown

For the golden-rumped elephant shrew:
249 gold
162 coffee / dark brown
254 taupe / grey brown

Soft stuffing
A pair of 6 mm safety eyes (if you choose another yarn, you will perhaps need different eyes)
A needle and some yarn for sewing, sewing pins, scissors, stitch marker (optional)
