This triangular shawl is worked from the top down with a center “spine”. The sides have a two stitch garter edge. The border motifs are meant to line up with the centers of the last row of motifs in the shawl body. It will fit almost any adult women’s size.

I worked the shawl in hand-dyed single ply merino/silk, and my tester made it in Schachenmayr Regia sock yarn.

The Elfin stitch repeat (16 rows) can be carried on as far as desired, or until your yarn runs out. Be sure to keep back enough yarn for the 8 border rows.
