Mitts with a thumb slit and a decorative panel on the back of the hand. For a larger mitt, increase circumference of the mitt but keep bead stitch panel centered. To make the mitt smaller, reduce the number of stitches in palm, keeping the stitch count on back of hand panel constant.
Use a crochet hook to retrieve dropped yarn strands, as mitts are knitted with two strands held together. Approximately one half skein of fingering and one half skein of lace weight yarn makes two mitts. For a slightly marled effect, use different colours of fingering and lace weight yarns.
