Ella Sweater
DIFFICULTY: Adventous beginner
OVERVIEW
The Ella Sweater is a top-down seamless raglan sweater, worked in one piece. Its classic and timeless construction makes it a versatile garment that fits comfortably on both babies and children, allowing for ease of movement and layering. The design features ribbed edges at the neckline, cuffs, and hem, giving a snug but stretchy finish that keeps the sweater in place during everyday play and cuddles. The delicate lace design on the front adds a soft decorative look, while being simple for everyday wear.
Knitted from the neckline downwards, the sweater can easily be tried on during knitting, making it simple to adjust length in both body and sleeves for a personalized fit.
Inspired by little Ella, who enjoys playing with toys and cuddles with mom and dad, this sweater captures that same sense of playfulness and comfort.

DIMENSIONS
The most important measurement when knitting this garment is the circumference of the individual. The length of the body and sleeves can be personalized, but the fit around the body is essential for choosing the correct size. Although the size names are categorized by age, each baby/child has their own unique shape. Therefore, I advise measuring the individual first and selecting the size accordingly. The size age should only be considered a general guideline if the individual is not present.
Finished measurements (body circumference):
The circumference of the sweater is measured around the widest part of the body (stomach/chest).
3-6 months: 53 cm
6-9 months: 57 cm
9-12 months: 61 cm
12-18 months: 65 cm
18-24 months: 69 cm
1-2 years: 73 cm
2-3 years: 77 cm
E.g. if the indiviudal has a stomach measurement of 71 cm, I would knit the size 1-2 years (73 cm), so the indiviudal has room to grow.
YARN

Sample on front page is a size 2-3 years and knit in color 4311.
MATERIALS
3.5 mm circular needles
4.5 mm circular needles
Use the length you prefer. Since we will be using the magic loop method, a specific length is not critical. I personally use 40-60 cm needles.
GAUGE
16 sts = 10 cm after blocking. This is my own personal gauge, and not the suggested gauge on the yarn. Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.
