Elster Hat
CONSTRUCTION & SIZES
The Elster hat is worked bottom up from the brim to the crown.
The hat is started with the italian cast on method and the main part of the hat is worked in a knit and purl stitch pattern.
Towards the crown it is shaped with decreases.
The hat can be worked with a 40 cm (16 inches) circular needle, while it’s best to work the crown on DPNs to suit the decreasing circumference. The brim will be folded in half towards the outside of the hat, creating a double layer.
