My maternal grandmother Elvy knitted all her life. Sadly I didn’t take up knitting until after she was already quite ill with alzheimers. She has hence passed away, but I wanted to name my first published pattern after her. So, here are the Elvy Mittens! They are inspired by well, Scandinavia, since I’m from Sweden and love the Scandinavian knitting traditions.

They are made for tiny people, 0-4 months old. If you want larger mittens, you can try to go up a needle size.

Tension: 22 stitches and 30 rows on 10 cm on 3.5 mm needles, in DK weight yarn.

Yarn suggestions: Drops Karisma. You will need less than 50 grams of each colour. This is a great pattern to use up leftovers =)

Needles: 2,5 mm and 3,5 mm, plus a 3.5 mm crochet hook.

Finished measurements: approximately 10 cm long from the beginning of the chart, and 6.5-7 cm wide.
