For Zoe with Love
This pattern came about when my dear friend Mark said to me that he wanted to gift his wife Zoe, another dear friend, a scarf with dogs on it for Christmas. I set about trying to find a good pattern, and there are many beautiful ones about, but they are all too serious. Zoe is a very playful person, so anything made for her needs to be playful also, I felt.
So there was no way around it: I would have to design a pattern as well as knit it. This is a lot of work for a commission of this size, so even though Mark paid me for my effort, it’s definitely a labour of love for Zoe from me. That is how the name for the pattern came about!
It’s not possible to describe how much Mark and Zoe have done for me. They were there for me during a time in my life when I needed people the most, though I was at my lowest. In a way this is me commemorating that.
The Technical Bits
This is a whopper of a scarf!
It is double knitted so you’ll need to be familiar with this technique. The pattern does not contain instructions on how to do double knitting, though there are some useful links to articles about it.
