Then it’s up to you to personalize the bag in your own unique way.

Be sure to use a feltable yarn for this project. You will need 100% wool, but NOT a machine washable yarn. It is important that the yarn will shrink when washed.

The project begins by working a rectangle to create the base of the bag. Stitches are then picked up around the base, and the body of the bag is worked in the round. The flap and the handle are worked flat.

Work this project with two strands of yarn held together as one.

When finished, the bag is felted in the washing machine. This shrinks the bag and creates a dense fabric.

Please note that buttons are not recommended on items for children under three years of age.
