Ember Camisole is a fitted camisole worked seamlessly from the top down in the round.

The cups are shaped with German short rows - the pattern includes two bust-shaping options. The body is shaped with decreases and increases at the waist. Double-knit straps worked separately and sewn on at the end, allowing the strap length to be adjusted individually.

Sizes & Fit

Choose your size based on your upper-bust measurement, not your full bust. Additional room for the bust is created separately with short-row shaping.

Sizes:
XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL)
Recommended to fit upper bust:
74-78 (80-84) 86-90 (92-96) 98-102 (104-108) 110-114 (118-122) cm
29.1-30.7 (31.5-33.1) 33.9-35.4 (36.2-37.8) 38.6-40.2 (40.9-42.5) 43.3-44.9 (46.5-48.0) in

The camisole is designed with approximately 10-14 cm / 3.9-5.5 in of negative ease at the upper bust.

Yarn

100 (100) 150 (150) 200 (200) 200 (250) g of Lana Grossa Nebbia (170 m / 186 yds per 50 g).

Approximate yardage:
280 (340) 400 (460) 520 (580) 640 (700) m
306 (372) 437 (503) 569 (634) 700 (766) yds

Actual usage may vary depending on gauge, yarn choice, body and strap length, and individual fit adjustments.

For substitutions, choose a yarn that feels soft against the skin and creates a flexible, drapey fabric at the required gauge. Wool, alpaca, cashmere blends, and suitable plant-based yarns can all work well. Avoid yarns that produce a fabric that is too firm or stiff.

Yarns used by the testers that created a similar fabric:

  • Sandnes Garn Kos
  • CaMaRose Host
  • Katia Cotton Merino
  • Gazzal Alpaca Air

Gauge

21 sts × 32 rounds = 10 × 10 cm / 4 × 4 in
in stockinette stitch using 4 mm / US 6 needles, measured after washing and blocking.
The garment is worked in the round, so an in-the-round gauge swatch is recommended for the most accurate result (or a speed swatch).

Needles
4 mm / US 6 circular needles, approximately 40-80 cm / 16-32 in depending on size, or the needle size required to obtain gauge.

Notions
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends and attaching the straps
