Technique.
The technique used is a mix between overlay mosaic and inset mosaic, with the benefits of both and the elimination of the annoying bits of both.
No cutting of the yarn like in overlay mosaic, and no chains like in inset mosaic.
Everything is explained in the picture tutorial included in the pattern.
Stitches used.
Single crochet, single crochet back loop, dc.
What can I make?
I have created an asymmetrical triangular shawl with this pattern, BUT you can also create straight items like a scarf, a blanket or even a pillow.
Full written instructions and charts.
The pattern comes with full written instructions, including a picture tutorial for the first rows of the shawl to teach you the technique.
Full written instructions are also included for a straight option like a blanket.
If you prefer charts, they are also included for both shawl and blanket options.
Hook size.
Hook size 3.00 with the recommended yarn.
Yarn.
For my example, I have used the following:
1 x Scheepjes whirl, 225g/1000m, “Rainbow popsicle” (792).
2.5 x Scheepjes whirlette 100/455m, “Liquorice” (851).
You can substitute the yarn for your yarn of choice, making sure to use the recommended hook for that yarn.
Size.
Can be made to fit any size - this goes for both shawl and blanket. My version is 180 cm x 160 cm x 105 cm after blocking.
