Sugar skull cal
The CAL has ended and the whole pattern is now available
Join my Facebook group Mhl crochet designs. This is the place to get help and inspiration from me and other members.
The Sugar skull pattern is available as charts, and as written instructions (English only but with stitch translations).
The Sugar skull blanket is crocheted using the overlay mosaic crochet technique with tapestry elements. It might look difficult, but it pretty much consists of sc and dc, so it’s a lot easier than it looks.
The pattern includes a photo tutorial with chart and written instructions on how to do the tapestry mosaic crochet used to make the blanket, and also a photo tutorial on how to do a double border to give your blanket a beautiful finish and avoid having to sew in any ends.
The pattern is available in English, Danish and German.
Hooks used:
3.0 + 2.5
Suggested yarn:
Because this blanket is done using tapestry mosaic crochet, you will be using 2 colors for the color b.
Color a:
7 x Scheepjes whirlette 100g/455m, color 851/Liquorice.
The blanket itself uses approximately 5 whole skeins + 15 g of liquorice whirlette, and the remaining is used for the border, and will be enough for 3 rounds of dc in the border. If you want a different color border, you will need 6 whirlettes for the color a for the blanket, and 2 whirlettes in the border color of your choice
Color b:
4 x Scheepjes whirlette 100g/455m, color 860/ice.
Color b:
2 x Scheepjes whirl 215g/1000m, color 759/Jumpin jelly.
