In December 2025 I got a beautiful Advent existing of 24 mini skeins. I wanted to use them a a whole and in one big project. Thus, the idea for this shawl was born.
I also did not want to make a gauge swatch and so I designed this pattern which is going to work without any gauge swatch at all.
You start quite narrow on one end, increase till you have the desired with, continue straight, and then decrease again upon approaching the other end.

Techniques used: knit, purl, make 1 left, make 1 right, cables existing of k3spective 4 stitches, knit 2 together, slip slip knit.

Sizes
There is no specific size for this shawl, you knit it to your desired width and length.

Material
Yarn
The two samples shown here have been knitted with the following yarn:
colorful shawl: 4ply sock wool from an advent (410m per 100g), I used the whole advent, i.e. 480g
grey shawl: Heavy Meringo from Knitting for Olive, 300g.

Needles
Chosse the needles according to your yarn. For a nice drape of the shawl I would recommend to use the bigger needle size indicated for your yarn, or even go up one more size. I did use 3.5 mm needles for the colorful sample and 5 mm for the grey sample.

Other Notions
four stitch markers
tapestry needles
if required: a cable needle

Gauge
No gauge swatch has to be done.
