This little tam/beret style hat is for springtime when something still needs to be worn to stay warm during those cool crisp days. The tubular cast-on creates a wonderfully finished edge that is extremely stretchy and will fit toddlers up to 5 year olds. The cast-on is a provisional one, making it slightly tricky unless you’re an old hand at it, but once past the “tubular section” it is nothing more than knit in the round from the base to the top of the crown.

The little flower embellishments are crocheted (single- and double-crocheted) and the instructions are given for those too. The I-Cord is another finishing touch with the little bow toward the side.

This is a great way to use up stash yarn taking over your house!
