Emu
Pattern for an emu! The finished toy measures about 6.5in tall (17cm) when seated, taller when standing.
There are color change instructions included for making both a juvenile (plainer brown) and adult (more colorful).
The pattern is suitable for beginners with only the feet being minorly tricky. There are a lot of color changes, and there is little bit of sewing involved with the legs and wings.
You will need at least three colors of yarn (or more, depending on whether it is the juvenile or adult), a hook, a small bit of yarn or embroidery thread for the eyes, stuffing, a needle for sewing, and craft wire for the neck and legs.
Note: The toy does not stand up well unless it is leaning against something due to the weight. It looks cute seated, but if you want it to stand on its own, you may need sturdier wire than what I used.
