This pattern is designed to use that special skein of fingering weight yarn everyone has in their stash.

Although any fingering weight yarn can be used, variegated yarn is highlighted particularily well with the slipped stitch ribbing and tiny bobbles pattern.

  • knit with 1 skein of fingering weight yarn with the recommended amount of yards/meters. If you want to use a skein of yarn that has less than the recommended yards/meters, consider a contrasting colour yarn for the ribbing and/or thumbs

  • two sizes are included in the pattern (youth & adult)

  • skill level: intermediate

  • engaging design and would make a great gift knit

  • required notions - 2 stitch makers, tapestry needle, waste yarn or stitch holder

  • video links for Long-Tail Cast On, Kitchener Stitch, Yarn Overs between Knit and Purl Stitches, and Backwards Loop Cast-On

  • this pattern has been professionally tech-edited and generously test knit by some amazing knitters with various skill levels
