This pattern makes a 50x50cm cushion cover inspired by Frank Hurley’s photograph of the Endurance in the depths of Antarctic winter. The doubleknit fabric makes a sturdy cushion cover with a reversible pattern.

To make this pattern, you will need approx. 300m each of the Main and Contrast colours for the front in sock-weight yarn, plus another 300m of the Main colour in DK-ish weight for the back (alternatively, 600m of sock-weight with two strands held together for the back).

The gauge given (23 st x 32 rows) is for doubleknit, which I find is looser than my usual stockinette gauge. You may need a larger needle to obtain the same gauge for the back.
