ENFILADE is a garter stitch shawl that plays with two colours. It is very cosy to wear - a keep warm shawl as well as a lovely accessory.

The alternating sections of colour bands and eyelet stripes make this an enjoyable and fun knit. And being worked in garter stitch it knits up quickly.

Pick your two favourite colours and let them play together in this shawl :)

It is a triangular, sideways, bias knit shawl with a slightly curved top edge.

The pattern contains fully written out and charted instructions.

Designed for two skeins of fingering weight yarn in contrasting colours. Allow approx. 800yds/730m total to get the size of the sample.
Yarn used for sample:
Madelinetosh tosh merino light (fingering weight, 100g = 420yds/380m), 1 skein each in colourway Moonstone and Coquette on 3.5 mm/US 4 needles.

length along top edge: approx. 208cm/82“
depth: approx. 58cm/23“

Is not critical for this project but differences will affect yardage requirements and the finished size.
Gauge on sample: 21 sts x 44 rows = 10x10cm/4x4“ in garter stitch after blocking.

In architecture, “…an enfilade is a suite of rooms formally aligned with each other. The doors entering each room are aligned with the doors of the connecting rooms along a single axis, providing a vista through the entire suite of rooms….“ (Wikipedia, link)
