ENNISKILLEN is a triangular shawl worked sideways. You start by casting on a few stitches at the tip and then knit across to the opposite edge, increasing at the top edge to form the asymmetrical triangular shape. The shawl features a reversible fabric with relaxing garter stitch and delicate eyelet rows. The lace edging is created along one side as you knit.

Initially designed as a single-colour shawl, the design took a new direction when a test knitter suggested using a contrasting colour for the border. This led to the creation of the two-colour Enniskillen shawl.

In Version 1, the lace border and eyelet rows are worked in a contrasting yarn. In Version 2, the lace edging is also knitted with a contrasting yarn, while the body of the shawl is a single colour.

The pattern is designed for fingering-weight yarn, but can easily be modified for different yarn weights.

Enniskillen can be customized to fit your preferred size and the available amount of yarn. The “Enniskillen Possibilities” PDF contains detailed instructions and a variety of size options.

The instructions include stitch counts for each row, presented in a clear, row-by-row format. Section 1 is charted. Please refer to the written instructions for the Set Up and Final Section.

TIPS AND TRICKS is a 6-page PDF that provides additional information on all the key details of the shawl. As an experienced knitting instructor, I love sharing helpful tips and advice to make your knitting journey more enjoyable.
